Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has successfully developed an e-paper that can be reprinted 260 times, it seems to be a great achievement as the cost of using papers in any organization will reduce significantly. It will also help reduce the garbage and that's pretty good for environment as well.
ITRI demonstrated prototypes of the e-paper that it aims to commercialize in the next two years.
The e-paper would be able to function various colors at various parts of the sheet. This also helps to keep the production cost for the company very low. The colors do not mix up as well.
These e-papers can be printed in a number of ways including with thermal, electrical and physical technology as being used in different parts of the world . With small modifications, thermal printers in fax machines can be used to print on the e-paper.
The e-paper can be thermally reprinted 260 times, and the company aims to increase that number to 500 times during the next year or two which the company thinks quite feasible.
