National Disaster Management Authority, work done so far in recent floods

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has so far distributed about 133,000 ration packets, 17,700 tents and 40,000 blankets among flood-affectees in Sindh .It also sent two helicopters for relief work in flood-hit Kohistan district.

The helicopters will remain in Khoistan to continue rescue operation in the area and all the affected people are evacuated from the flood-hit area, NDMA Chairman Zafar Qadir told the media on Friday.

The NDMA chairman told that ration packets have been distributed among the affected people through Utility Store Corporation (USC) and Canteen Store Department (CSD) in Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Tando Allah Yar and Mirpur Khan.

Mr. Zafar said that 40,000 blankets have also been handed over to people while 10,000 mosquito nets have been provided to affectees to save them from dengue fever and related mosquito-bite diseases.

He further told that 10,000 bottle of mosquito repellent oil have also been distributed among the people.
